Brooke Tassoul Spring 2011 Lookbook Now Live on BrookeTassoul.com

Last Tuesday I had the unexpected pleasure of photographing the Brooke Tassoul Spring 2011 collection.  Even though the circumstances were slightly stressed it was a wonderful shoot, made so by the talented team that I was able to work with.

Brooke Tassoul is a 24-year-old womenswear designer from the Midwest, and this is her third collection.  Her designs are elegant and ephemeral.  They have a classic quality that appeals to women of all ages.  It was a great experience working on this project with her and creating images that she felt fully represented her designs and brand.

Lucy Knaus was the wardrobe stylist on this project.  She was calm and collected and pulled together the accessories from Pono Jewelry and various shoe designers.  Through close collaboration with Brooke she was able to build the complete looks that both support and  unite Brooke’s designs.  She was also the one to organize the location and the hair and makeup for this shoot as well as the one who brought me on board.  She was wonderful to work with and I look forward to our next project together.

Angel Yu did a stunning job on hair and makeup to achieve exactly the kind of effortless beauty that we were looking for.  She was also able to keep everything moving despite the time pressures that we were under.  She is an absolute professional and was always just off camera stepping in to make sure that the hair and makeup remained perfect.

The model was Ana Leticia of Ford Models.  She was a dream to work with.  She is a consummate professional and an extremely sweet individual.  She is versatile and was able to give me exactly what I was looking for and then some.  She understood that we were under serious time pressures and managed to nail the shot within the first couple of minutes.  Again she’s a great model and a lovely person and I look forward to working with her again in the future.

The photoshoot was held at Third Streaming.  Third Streaming is a former woodworking shop in SoHo dating back to the 1880’s and is currently run as an art gallery and  event space, and increasingly as a rental photo studio/location.  Third Streaming is the brain child of  Yona Becker, and in addition to hosting events she also offers her services to artists.

Below are selected images from the Lookbook.  I’ll be posting more from this shoot shortly
